嶺南文人與百年香江文教展Lingnan Literati’s Contribution to A Century of Hong Kong Education
What we do
Southbound intellectuals had had a profound impact on the heritage and evolution of traditional Chinese culture in Hong Kong over the past century since the late Qing and Republican era. These Lingnan literati had put tremendous efforts in nurturing talents, facilitating literary exchange and promoting the traditional Chinese culture in Hong Kong.
Our team had proposed to use “南來文人 人文來南 (Southbound Intellectuals and Their Legacy)” as the main theme of the exhibition. The reflection symmetry of the theme line and design artwork symbolizes the past and the present, as well as its cause-and-effect relationship and highlights the narrative of the rich and enduring legacy of these Southbound intellectuals, which flourished the culture of the city.

Banner Design
The Process
We had created a transparent piece of leaf with visible vein network as the key visual artwork, with its great fund of life and vitality resembled the heritage and evolution of Chinese culture. The exhibition area was segregated into different areas by different kinds of presentation including a forest of hanging banners as the hall of fame of selected intellectuals, an interactive press-to-glow mechanism showing the location map of Hong Kong, an enclosed time tunnel with special lighting effect highlighting the milestones and important works of the southbound journey, and a showroom exhibiting the rare publications, photographs and paintings of the intellectuals. The areas were bonded and related as a whole and complete historical journey by the index of the key visual artwork.
Our team was responsible for the exhibition curation, creative design and development, project planning and implementation, logistics operation, marketing materials development, venue decoration as well as production of the exhibition and opening ceremony.
